Welcome to my little world of Photography! I am Fiona Johnson, the photographer behind Fiona Johnson Photography. Although I have always been a photographer at heart, I have been doing photography professionally for over 12 years now. It has been a spectacular journey. I have had a passion for photography since I was child and had a lovely pink “le clic” camera. In college, I completed an honors thesis in photography called “The Images of Human Diversity.” Although I majored in Psychology, I minored in photography and studio arts. After college I worked in the world of graphic and web design for a few years. Meanwhile my photography business was continuously rolling into what it is today. Now it is what I do exclusively, and I love every second of it.

I am Irish, born and raised. I moved here with my family back in 1986 when I was almost 12 years old. I am married to my best friend and have 4 wonderful (sometimes…haha) children ranging from 16 to 5 years old. We love to go on adventures, swim, camp, travel, and be spontaneous. My whole family loves winter (except for me – I hate the cold and dark) . They play hockey, ice skate in our back yard, build toboggan shoots, and anything else they can think of to do outside.  We are a busy family, but it is fun!

As far as being a photographer, I like simple. The simplest things in life are often the most beautiful. Simple, everyday moments are beautiful. The simplicity and innocence of children is beautiful. A simple expression of love is beautiful. And even just to look around you at any given moment, you can find so much beauty in the simple things we see everyday. Within all this simplicity there is a story. When you look closely, you may see a complexity within this simplicity, a deeper understanding of why the simple things can mean so much. My goal is to capture this deeper understanding through a simple, beautiful portrait.
