I am one lucky baby photographer!
Meet Liam, my adorable, chunky, chubby cheeked, little nephew. Liam is 6 months old today. As you can see by his scar, Liam has not had the easiest first 6 months. When he was just over 9 weeks old, doctors discovered that he had a hole in his heart. Although it is not uncommon to find a hole in a baby’s heart, they often close up themselves without any intervention. However, after careful evaluation, it was determined that the hole in Liam’s heart was much too significant to close up without intervention. The week before Christmas, Liam went to The Heart Center at Boston Children’s Medical and had open heart surgery. Lucky for him, Liam has an angel in Heaven watching over him. I’m certain his big brother Benjamin was with him throughout the whole process. His surgery went very well, and he recovered like a champ. He immediately started gaining weight and has been thriving ever since. His Mom Naoise and Dad Matt are two of the strongest people I know. Their positive attitude, resilience, and ability to see the good in everything are apparent in Liam already. I can’t wait to watch him grow! It’s times like these that make me extra happy to be a baby photographer!
